As a result from a storm taking out most of her appliances, this client wanted to seize the opportunity to make some design updates (from her kitchen renovation a decade ago), while adding a dry bar to gain some much needed extra storage in the adjacent space as well.
The goal was to do a partial kitchen renovation (replacing her appliances), address the storage issues... while creating a few design updates, as well as, to add on a new dry bar that could serve as extra storage, provide a hidden dog bowl zone and an additional serving station.
In the kitchen, by eliminating the unused desk and taking the upper cabinets to the ceiling, this resulted in more space to accommodate a larger built-in fridge, a Wolf steam oven/wall oven combo and more storage. (see before photos at the end).
Lastly, by also replacing the backsplash, USI was able to tweak this already cute kitchen into a more current, timeless design, while maximizing every square inch of space.
See before photos at the end to appreciate the transformation.
Points of interests:
-a hidden nook for a step stool to allow for easy access (now that the cabinets are going to the ceiling),
-multiple towers with rollouts for small electric appliances, TV/computer combo and larger serving pieces,
-a customized spice rack,
-new upper, glass cabinets to the ceiling .... while maintaining the lower cabinets and countertops to reduce costs.
-larger floating shelves to create a more open feel
-recessed hidden dog bowl
-a new dry/beverage bar, also serving as a secondary serving zone
