Happy New Year!!!
As 2014 is being kicked off, now is the time to think about organizing those clutter areas, and refreshing that mantle of yours. Since many of you will be using the fireplace this month, why not dress it up, and make it a pretty place to cozy up to, while the flames already add a nice focal point…. literally!
By adding a few fresh pieces, greenery and photos in unique frames, you can make your room look like it received a complete makeover!
Faux fireplace? Group an assortment of candles with different heights “in” the fireplace to allow for a cozy ambiance. Want something a little more seasonal…. decorate with pine cones, twigs, and branches, “or” even a photo grouping.
Faking a foyer station with a high shelf, or small table next to the door creates the illusion of a grand foyer. By hanging mirrors, hooks (for jackets, keys, & bags) and strategically placing baskets under or on the table, will allow for organized storage (for boots, shoes, etc.) as well as, it provides great eye appeal.
Let your entryway decor, follow the style of the rest of your home for visual unity. Using an accent color in your entryway can make a bold statement, in what is typically a small space that is ignored.
Whether it’s an entire room, or tucked into the corner of your living room or kitchen – you can create a beautiful, yet organized space for your home office. My favorite working stations showcase smart storage, integrated with beautiful details
From traditional to modern, cottage to eclectic, an element of style will bring a signature look to your home office and make you want to work. Spring IS around the corner! Try adding fresh plants or bright green details. It will transform a typically “dull and boring” office area to a fun & inviting space in your home. Think outside (and in) the box. Utilizing shelves, ledges, colorful bins and boxes, will result in a beautiful display of paperwork! Who knew pens, paper, and bills could look stylish too :).
Next Quarter… spring cleaning, landscape ideas and more…. Until then, enjoy this fabulous season and happy decorating!
